Calgary, AB, August 4, 2009 – Local Calgary rock band STATIC IN THE STARS have been confirmed as performers on the CJAY stage during the Virgin Festival Alberta on August 8, 2009.



On the first day of the festival STATIC IN THE STARS will be joining acts such as PEARL JAM, K-OS, ARKELLS, THUNDERHEIST, MOTHER MOTHER, THE CLIKS, WINTERSLEEP, CONSTANT SEASON, THE GREAT BLOOMERS, JOSHUA’S HABIT, and DJ KNOWLEDGE.



The Virgin Festival performance precedes the release of STATIC IN THE STARS’ new EP “No Grace in Goodbyes” which was produced by Tommy Mac from Hedley and engineered and mixed by Juno nominated Dean Maher (AC/DC, Elton John, Rise Against, Trapt).



Following up on their Virgin Festival performance, STATIC IN THE STARS will be holding their CD release party on Saturday September 12th, 2009 in conjunction with the Sneak a Peek opening of Fluid Event Lounge in Calgary, AB. A showcase date at Indie Music Week in Toronto in October, 2009 will be the centerpiece of a fall 2009 tour.
